I love the life in these guys’ images: the way they can make me grin, bring a lump to my throat and take my breath away with their beauty all in a matter of seconds as I scroll through a wedding. This is what documentary wedding photographers do so amazingly well – and York Place Studios are among the very best.
I asked Dom to tell us a little about York Place Studios, and she told me they thrive on capturing spontaneity – “the laughs, tears, smiles and shapes; the look in a father’s eye as he sees his little girl get married and the wild screams and expressions across the dance floor as the first note of that favourite tune rings out.”
“We’re a family team of photographers and videographers and our work celebrates the spontaneity of the moment – the laughs, tears, smiles and shapes; the look in a father’s eye as he sees his little girl get married and the wild screams and expressions across the dance floor as the first note of that favourite tune rings out. We believe that great memories are never forced or faked, they’re forged in those in-between moments, just when you’re least expecting them, and these are the moments we strive to capture. That’s why we’re there morning to night capturing both the bride and groom’s day from start to finish, shooting as discretely as possible and without flash to capture honest and real memories at their very best and sharing the moments of the day you miss. Our lens, your Moments, your Memories.”
York Place Studios are wedding photographers in London, but they photograph weddings all over the world. Dom tells me they adore the adventure and the extraordinary people they meet. “Live, laugh, dance, love… these are the memories, these are the moments. This is our ethos. We believe that great memories are never forced or faked, they’re forged in those in-between moments, just when you’re least expecting them, and these are the moments we strive to capture.”
